OUTREACH AND TEACHING
True leaders don’t invest in buildings. They invest in people. Why? Because success without a successor is failure. So your legacy should not be in buildings, programs, or projects; your legacy must be in people.
While we may be an organization geared towards project completion, our ultimate goal is to transform the way learning transpires in the classroom every day. By developing a curriculum void of the traditional method we seek to alleviate the dispassion students develop in contemporary classrooms and instead foster personalized passion towards what they love to do. No more teaching to the test or ridiculing students for not “understanding” the subject. Let’s bring out the best in people just like we would do each other.
The Following Statistics Derive from the National Survey of Student Engagement (NSEE):
• 55% of first-year students spend more than 15 hours per week preparing for class; 4% spend 5 hours or less on homework per week.
• 28% of first-year students frequently work with other students on projects in class; 53% work with peers on assignments outside of class.
• 10% of first-year students frequently participate in service-learning or community-based projects during a given year; 74% never took part in such activities.
Progress is made by those that challenge the norm. The educational system has been relatively unchanged, and we believe it is time for a major overhaul. We want to encourage self-initiated learning through genuine passion and to do that we need to toss some of the academic conventions. Our series of Youtube Lessons and Hands-On Approach to teaching will help students reclaim their creative core while still building the foundation for a good educational background that all students should have.
